SponCom Survey

Case study: Location And Quantification of Spontaneous Combustion Events at Coal Mine Rehabilitation Sites.

The Problem: Numerous isolated spontaneous combustion events occurred over a large area on a coal spoil heap.  The fires were a site safety and environmental risk.

The Answer: Thermal imaging was used to survey the stockpile for locating and measuring the size of the vents, for the Site Environmental Officer to produce a management program.
